Republic Day 2017 celebrations by Thoughtful Minds

Republic Day 2017 celebrations are going to take place all over India. But what’s so special in that? Let’s peep into it with Thoughtful Minds:

#1 This Republic Day,as many as 179 United Arab Emirates (UAE) soldiers are going to lead the Republic Day parade. So far, 195 jawans, 15 support staff members and 15 officers are sent by the UAE. As per Major General Rajesh Sahai, as many as 144 jawans and 35 band members are going to be a part of the celebration. It is important to note that this is the custom started last year only by honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi by inviting troops from France last year in the Repuplic Day parade last year.

#2 It is for the first time that the most prestigious counter-terror force, the NSG ( National Security Guard) is going to feature in the Delhi Republic Day parade for the first time. Although, earlier it was anticipated that Special Forces para commandos are participating in the parade but now they are not participating due to parade’s rotation policy.

#3 This 68th Republic Day celebration is going to showcasing NSG vehicle- Sherpa for the first time. It is a bullet proof armored anti hijacking vehicle. The best feature of this vehicle make it a commando itself and could resist powerful explosions and has ability to go under water.

#4 The Chief guest of the parade would be UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

#5 This time the whole venue is going to be decorated with date palm potted plants to welcome the special guest from the United Arab Emirates.

#6 Everyone must have seen Burj Khalifa, but this Republic Day it will be different! Yes, it is for the first time in the history that the tallest building in the world in Dubai Burj Khalifa is going to be decorated in tricolor- Saffron, White and green to mark 68th Republic Day of India.
